PJH Students Study Holocaust

Posted Date: 04/08/2019

Perryton Junior High eighth-graders in Mrs. Darrie Francis’ ELAR (English Language and Reading) classes are learning about the Holocaust before the read The Diary of Ann Frank.

Each student has been given the information of a Holocaust victim.  They then made a butterfly representing that person and hung the butterflies from the ceiling. Later this week, Mrs. Francis will reveal to the students if his or her victim survived or died.

They will cut down the butterflies that represent those who did not survive.  It’s a very strong way to help students appreciate what happened during this tragic part of world history.
